If You Are Entering a Giveaway....

I had a few questions come up about how to do comments on this last giveaway (TessaAnn buttons)

-Each comment separately-

When I ask for each comment separately, this is how I would like you to do the comments:

Blogged about giveaway- #1 (this is one comment)

Blogged about giveaway- #2 (this is one comment)

You have two separate comments total. So after doing one comment, click "post comment". Once that one
is posted, continue the same process for each comment.

When purchasing an item from the shop, you are able to do 10 comments. Just tell me what you bought, and post that comment 10 times.

I hope this clears some confusion up. =) If anyone has a question, please leave it on this post. It will be a lot easier for me to answer them if they are here. Thanks!



Handmade Monday Feature- Tessa Ann

A handmade feature, on Monday?? Yes, that's right! I have several blog features and giveaways that are geared toward Valentines Day, so I will be featuring shops both on Mondays and Fridays.

Rich, Chocolate-y Goodness.....

Creamy Chocolate Pudding

1/3 cup sugar

2 Tablespoons cornstarch

1/8 teaspoon salt

2 cups milk

2 egg yolks, slightly beaten

2 teaspoons vanilla

Mix sugar, cornstarch and salt in a 2-quart saucepan.

Stir in milk gradually. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly,

 until mixture thickens and boils.

Boil and stir 1 minute.

Stir  at least half of the hot mixture gradually into egg yolks.

Blend into hot mixture in saucepan. Boil and stir 1 minute.

Remove from heat; stir in vanilla.

Pour into dessert glasses. Cool slightly; refrigerate.

Now serve your homemade pudding with whipped cream,

chocolate shavings, flaked coconut, small chopped

candies (like M&M's), strawberries or raspberries.

Yum! I assure you that you will not want to go back to eating

the boxed stuff again!

~Leek & Potatoe Soup~

It's been awhile since I've posted a recipe, so I thought I'd

share this recipe with all of you. I made it over the weekend and will

definitely make it again! A delicious soup for cold winter days.

~Leek and Potato Soup~

3 T. butter
2 cups leeks (white part only)
1 cup onion, minced
1-2 stalks celery, minced
1 large carrot, minced
3 T. flour
4 cups chicken stock
1 T. salt
Freshly ground pepper, to taste
1 cup tender green part of leeks, minced (optional, though it does
add a pretty color)
4 cups red potatoes, peeled and diced
1 small turnip and/or 1 small parsnip, peeled and diced (optional)
1/2 cup heavy cream
4 cups milk ( don't use skim milk)
3 T. parsley and/or chives, minced
Toppings such as crumbled bacon and cheese.


Mince leeks (white part only) and/or onions, carrots, and celery and saute in the butter about 5 minutes with the pan covered. Don't allow them to brown.
Blend in flour, stirring over medium heat, 2 minutes. Remove from heat; let cool slightly. Gradually stir in chicken stock and mix well. Stir in salt, pepper, optional green leeks, and potatoes and optional turnips/parsnips. Simmer, partially covered, until potatoes are tender, about 30 minutes. Stir in milk and cream. Heat to a gently simmer and remove from heat. Add parsley and/or chives, and other toppings is using . Serve with bread sticks and a leafy green salad.
Yummy!
