Dermstore Product Review // Sheer Creme Foundation

I was recently contacted by a representative of the Dermstore website to do a product review on a few of the products they offer. For the first review I was given an extensive list of brands to choose from, then for the second review I was able to pick any item from the website. I will be reviewing my other products later in April.

For Part 1 of this review I decided to review the Colorscience Pro Sheer Creme Foundation in Light as a Feather color.

This product got very high reviews on the Dermstore website, so I was eager to try it and see how it worked for me. Here is the product description:

"Sheer Creme Foundation combines vitamins F, A, C and E, broad-spectrum mineral sun protection and skin-perfecting color in one product, giving you all you need for a day of looking and feeling great in the sun. Micronized titanium dioxide and zinc oxide provide a physical block against UVA, UVB and infrared radiation. Vitamin F provides essential fatty acids while vitamins C, A and E normalize skin after sun exposure, moisturize and fight against free radicals. Rose geranium, sandalwood and lavender extracts soothe the skin as red marine algae nourishes skin, balances oily skin and lifts sagging skin. Light As A Feather is a fair color with a neutral base." Sheer Creme Foundation.

Sheer Creme Foundation is described as being a hydrating liquid foundation with sun protection. This is a plus for me because I have sensitive skin and can't wear most sunscreens on my face without my skin getting red, oily or breaking out.

The first time I put this on I was a bit disappointed because the color, though it looked darker in the bottle, went on really light (maybe this is because of the sun protection?).
I tried it a second time the next day, and found that I didn't need to use nearly as much as the bottle said I might need to use (1-2 pumps). Now I just squirt a tiny bit onto my finger and rub it on any areas that need covering (occasional breakouts, under eyes, around nose), instead of spreading it all over my face. This is a light coverage which makes it great for summer. The foundation felt relatively light on my skin and came off easily and thoroughly with makeup remover.
If you are looking for a heavy "cover every blemish" makeup, this is not for you. If you're like me and don't like to looked caked with heavy foundation and makeup, then this would be a good option for you. It is a really nice, light cover up foundation for someone who wants a little bit of coverage and sun protection.

Overall I was pretty pleased with the Colorscience Pro Sheer Creme Foundation. The price is a bit steep ($45 for a 1 oz bottle), but when used for just cover-ups ( not your full face), it would last a really long time. I would definitely recommend getting a sample of the colors before ordering, though. If I order again I will look into getting a sample so that the color matches my skin tone a little better. I have a fair skin tone, but the Light as a Feather color was still a little bit too light for me.

Colorscience Pro Sheer Creme Foundation can be purchased through the Dermstore Website or the Colorscience website.
